The Turkish team was later escorted to their hotel.However, a conditioner of the Turkish team later showed his bandaged left hand to Turkish television channel NTV, which he said was wounded by stone hurled by Greek Cypriot fanatics.United Nations peacekeeping forces in Cyprus also sent officers to their hotel at the request of Turkish and Turkish Cypriot authorities, according to Turkish media.Violence related to sport games has increased in Cyprus in recent years.
